Non-physical Roller Coaster Ride

Non-physical Roller Coaster Ride

I’ve started a daily meditation routine in the morning. I wake up, shower, and sit for 45 minutes. This is new to me because usually I associate meditation with sleep and out of body experiences, but this time period is when I’m very awake and alert. It’s been fun.

But I have missed my afternoon naps, which have been a source of weird experiences. So today I laid down after lunch for old times’ sake 🙂.

I was specifically trying to not control. To relax. To let go. To savor and enjoy the simple contentment I feel while meditating.

After a while, I started to see a bright light, and freaked out. My heart began to race and I was too excited. The sad part is it might have just been sunlight hitting my face, but I’m not sure. Either way, I got too excited and couldn’t maintain my meditation.

I calmed myself down, and kept going.

Eventually, I felt myself separate from my body. I floated up maybe 6 inches.

Instead of trying to control the experience, I kept meditating, and specifically let go of the controlling mind that always has some task to do.

I was whisked away, to put it mildly.

I couldn’t see anything, but felt my non-physical body being propelled at tremendous speeds. It felt like I was a little speck being played with by a friendly giant.

The being would push me in different directions, then let go, and launch my non-physical body through the void – then catch me and whoosh me around in another direction.

It was exhilarating! But also a bit scary!

Fear would bubble up in me – what if I was being sucked into a black hole? What if it was a demon? What if… etc.

I just relaxed and let go. I trusted that it would all work out and focused on the fun.

The last trick they caught me in such a way that I was vertical. I felt hands under my feet, as they accelerated to a breakneck speed, pushing me higher and higher, then finally letting me go and launching me into the air.

It was wild!

Then I returned to my body and woke up.

I feel so lucky to have these sorts of experiences, what a blast!
