You Are The Cook
What a shame that so many people lead the same basic life.
I used to be afraid that if I didn’t do what everyone else did, then I might come to the end of my life having missed out. It’s like eating at a restaurant – wouldn’t you want to order the most popular item off the menu, to see what all the hubbub was about?
I don’t see things like that anymore.
See: the problem is, you aren’t consuming life. Your life isn’t something you order off a menu to consume.
You are creating life. You are the cook, not the patron. You make the menu.
When you look at it from that perspective, isn’t it a shame that everyone cooks the same damn thing? Think of all the uncharted territory, all the possibilities, all the potential – and instead of a buffet of unique dishes, each more unique than the last, we have one large pile of cheeseburgers.
What a damn shame.
I believe every individual has something unique to contribute. A unique voice. But modern society has brainwashed us into thinking our role is to passively consume.
I am searching for my voice, and I hope you decide to search for yours.
