Testing If My Eyes Open During OBE
In my last post I wondered: when I see my non-physical body parts, am I seeing them with my physical eyes, or my non-physical eyes?
For the past week I’ve been testing this, with some success. I’ve also been recording my attempts in 4K video.
My setup is to get to the OBE state of mind, open my eyes, look at my non-physical arm, then perform a countdown and force myself to wake up.
The purpose of the countdown is so that I can pinpoint the exact moment when I was looking at my non-physical arm, and see if my physical eyes were open.
Today I finally hit the right state of mind. My technique is to leave my body while waking up. So my goal is to wake up very slowly without moving my body, then to hover around in that state until I can leave my body.
I felt whooshing and was excited to test my theory. I opened my eyes, and slowly moved my non-physical arms in front of me.
I could barely see a shadowy outline of my left arm, against the backdrop of the ceiling.
I started my countdown, then woke up.
When checking the footage, you can clearly see that my physical eyes are open during the OBE:
Yes I realize my countdown is very silly 😀. Upon reflection, I actually think it’s better to count up instead of down, then I can take my time waking up.
But the test worked!
It doesn’t explain why I saw my eyelashes in focus in my last post, but it does give a data point: at least in this instance, I was seeing out of my physical eyes, and saw what looked like a shadowy non-physical arm.
I would like to repeat this test though. I didn’t get a really good look at my arms, and I want to play with this boundary state some more.
Another thing I just noticed when reviewing past footage:
I was able to wake up immediately in prior attempts, when I didn’t hit the OBE state of mind. But in this attempt, it clearly took me some struggle to wake up. In a prior video, I literally shoot my arms into the air immediately upon waking, with zero struggle.
